Vicentini was born on July 18, 1926 in S. Lucia (Verona). His family moved to Legnago around 1930.
He was a member of the Schola Cantorum di Legnago where he received his first lessons at the piano from
maestro Guido Stello and his spouse Adelina Ambroso soprano.
After giving up his studies at the university, he dedicated himself to an artisitc life.
He studied first with maestro Ferruccio Cusinati, then with the tenor Guido Ederle.
He first appeared on stage on January 28, 1948 in concert. In 1953, he took part in the competition organized by the
Associazione Lirica Italiana and made consequently his debut in Tosca at the Nuovo in Milano.
He further studied at La Scala and then sang in Italian and foreign opera houses.
On September 15, 1956 he sang at the inauguration of the first opera season at the teatro Salieri di Legnago singing
He sang at the Anfiteatro Veronese in 1971, '72, '73, '74 respectively in Aida, Un Ballo in Maschera, La Bohème and Samson and Delilah.
I heard him in Madama Butterfly about 10 years after his debut with Giuseppe Zechillo, the well known trouble maker,
as Sharpless, both were not up to the task.
Vicentini recorded a complete La Traviata.
