After school, Bajew studied theologie. Just before the end of his studies, his voice was discovered, when he sang a solo during a choir concert, by the director of the Tobis-Filmgesellschaft Berlin, Graf Moln. Bajew moved to Germany and studied singing at the Musikhochschule Dresden. After singing in Dresden, München und Wiesbaden, Bajew was engaged seit 1949 at the Stadttheater von Koblenz. He made also guest appearances in German and foreign Opera houses. Bajew also sang for the German radio in opera programs. He sang in a total of 24 complete operas and operetta for the radio. Until 1971, Bajew was the focus point of a yearly operettas performances at the Freilichtbühne im Rhein in Koblenz. He had a large Repertoire. Since 1962, Bajew was the director of a singing school in Koblenz.
