Biographical Notes

Jindrich Blažíček was born on May 24th. 1903 in Brno. He studied singing with K.Kaulfuse and T. Czernika. Blažíček made his debut in Olomouci in 1935 where he sang up to 1936 and sang 13 parts (including Lenski, Cavaradossi, Lindoro). In 1936 Blažíček was engaged by V.Talich at the Prague National Opera where he sang the Czech national opera repertory, became famous for singing also roles in Mozart's operas. In 1942, Blažíček sang with big success Dalibor under V.Talich. He retired in 1948 because of physical disabilities. Blažíček died in Prague on the January 13th. 1979.
