Dugarzhap Tsiryenovich Dashiev was born on May 15, 1939 in Utzar, Dzhidinsky District of the Buryatia Republic, CCCP.

In 1969, Dashiev graduated from the Ural Conservatory.

During 1958-61, Dashiev was soloist at the Song and Dance ensemble Baïkal.

During 1963-66, Dashiev was a soloist at the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ural military.

In 1968, Dashiev was the winner of the fourth All-Union Vocal Competition M. I. Glinka.

Dashiev was a soloist at the Buryat Opera starting in 1969. He made his debut there as Alfredo.

His repertory there included: Vladimir Igoryevich, Lensky, German, Vodemon, Andrey Khovansky, José, Otello, Radames, Cavradossi, Canio, Lyonka (V buryu), Alekseï (Optimistichyeskaya Tragyediya by Kholminov), Romanshov (Dva kapitana by Shantir), Enkhe (Enkhe - Bulat-Bator by Frolov), Tsiryempil (Tsiryempil Ranzhurov by Yampilov), Bair (Chudyesniï klad (Wonderful treasure) by Yampilov), Banzat (Grozniye godi (The terrible years) by Yampilov) etc.

Dashiev always distinguished himself by impeccable vocal skills, and his singing technique. Dugarzhap Dashiev was called a singing actor- his vocal and performing skills were joined together.

Dashiev performed also Russian, Mongolian and Buryat songs.
