Karel Hruška sings Prodana nevesta: Utiš se, dívko, utiš se

Karel Hruška was born on the 14th of June 1891 in Plzeň. He studied singing studied with N.Kubata, and R.Figara, He made his debut in 1911 (Plzeň). Hruška became soloist at the Prague National Operas in 1919, where he sang up to 1957. He became famous in buffo parts, having inherited the mantle of A.Krossing. For example, he sang Prodana nevesta (Principal) more than 1000 times. Hruška sang also in traditional lyrical and dramatical tenor parts. The singer died on the 17th of October 1966 in Prague.
