Member of the National Opera of Budapest since 1954. Between 1955 and 1981 he was under contract to the Cologne Opera in Germany. He had a wide international career. He sang in San Francisco, London, Brussels, Moscow, Munich, Wien, Berlin, and New York, among others. He was one of the greatest Hungarian opera talents of the post-war years, not only thanks to his bright voice but because of his high dramatic abilities. He sung a number of very different roles but he was always convincing and provided marvelous moments of enchantement to public. He sang mainly in Italian operas, but also in Mozart and Wagner. He performed in various recitals and concerts.
