Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Colorado (Walther von Stoltzing in Die Meistersinger), Michigan Opera, New Orleans Opera, New York
City Opera, San Diego Opera (Narraboth in Salome), Pittsburgh Opera, and Washington Opera (Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer and
Sam Polk in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah), Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer for the Austin Lyric Opera and Calaf in Turandot for
the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
In Europe, he has performed at the Vienna State Opera (Boris in Katya Kabanova, Erik, Florestan in Fidelio, Cassio in Otello,
Elemer in Arabella, Walter in Tannhäuser,and Florestan), and Volksoper (Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus), Theater Champs Elysses

St. Gallen (Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos and Gherman), Bergen and Braunschweig (Tannhäuser, Florestan and Erik),
Hagen (title role in Tannhäuser), Saarbrücken (Walther von Stoltzing), Bremen (Erik), Riga, and Kazan (Gherman).
Notable recent engagements include new productions of Die Tote Stadt (as Paul) in Karlsruhe and Die Frau ohne Schatten
(as the Emperor), The Makropolous Affair (as Albert Gregor) in Darmstadt, the title role in Les Contes d’Hoffman at the
Komische Oper Berlin, and a revival of Der Fliegende Holländer with Frankfurt Opera, Halle as Calaf in Turandot, Erik,
the title role in Offenbach’s Bluebeard, and the Mahler 8th Symphony.
He also returned to Spain as Bacchus and to Japan with the Tokyo National Theater as Aegisthe in Elektra and to the U.S.A.
as tenor soloist at the Bard Festival..
He is a noted interpreter of the role of Aaron in Schoenberg’s Moses und Aaron, which he has performed at the Deutsche Oper Berlin,
Darmstadt, and in Catania, Italy, and ha has sung Jimmy Mahoney in Weill’s Mahagonny at the Spoleto, Festival, U.S.A.
A sought after concert artist, Mr. Brunner has appeared with the Berlin Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra
