René Lapelletrie, born Nov. 2nd, 1884 Libourne/France, died 1956 Bordeaux. Debut at the Trianon Lyrique in Paris in 1908, then in Dijon, Nice, Vichy and Marseille. From 1914 at the Champs-Élysées theatre in Paris, from 1920 at the Opéra-Comique till 1924. Without a permanent contract for the next two decades, he sang as a guest throughout the French provinces. After World War II back at the Opéra-Comique, where he was active till the 1950s (!) in buffo and comprimario parts.
