Georges Régis - all I found about him is that in the 1909-10 Metropolitan Opera season, he sang 26 performances
of comprimario parts and concerts (his biggest Met role was Lorenzo in Fra Diavolo) and was announced as
having sung "in New Orleans as well as in France".
New informations on Régis: in Marseille, he used "Rey" as a pseudonym; he was in the US already in 1893; he sang at the
S. Carlos of Lisbon in the 1910-11 season; and he was active in Paris between 1909 and 1926 (at the Opéra, obviously).
I wish to thank Robert Schlesinger for the recording and notes.
