Heinz Daum

1902 -
Daum's career developed as follows:
1928-29: Staatstheater in Wiesbaden.
1929-31: Stadttheater in Stettin.
1931-32: Stadttheater in Magdeburg.

From 1933 until the beginnings of the 1950s. Daum was first lyric tenor in Leipzig (Opernhaus).

There, Daum sang in the world premieres of Die pfiffige Magd by von Julius Weismann (Leander, 1939), and of Der Garten des Paradieses by Franz Petyreks (1942).

In 1935, he took part in the revival of Arminio (Händel as Segemunt). In 1942, Daum sang in the German premiere of Cyrano de Bergerac (Alfano).

His repertoy included: Ottavio, Tamino, Almaviva, Ernesto, Alessandro Stradella, Cavaradossi, Turiddu, Matteo, Frieder (An allem ist Hütchen schuld by Siegfried Wagner), ...

Daum was also appreciated as Concert and Oratorio singer.
