Karl Jöken - a good tenor. Born Nov. 3rd, 1893 in Krefeld, he made his debut as Manrico in his home town in 1918, without having studied! For many years, he sang at the Berlin Staatsoper; from 1934 on, however, he performed exclusively in operetta. He also appeared in films. Died in Sept. 1971.
I wish to thank Robert Schlesinger for the recording (Tom der Reimer) and notes.
I wish to thank Tom Silverbörg for the recording (Vogelhändler).
