Erich Schröter

ca. 1880 -
Schröter (born about 1880) was a member of the Stettiner Sänger, a male vocal ensemble in Berlin.

At least one early Anker label from 1906 calls him Tenor am Stadttheater Rostock. He was important for the German record industry as he made hundreds of records for almost all existing companies from about 1906 to WWI. Most of these are sentimental songs, some operetta, and among the earliest also some opera arias, which display a pleasant and agreeable lyric tenor voice.

Many of these recordings were issued under pseudonyms, e.g. E. Schröder, E. Schrader, E. Berger, Willi Heise, Erich Born, Franz Born, Walter Kurt, Georg Raden and probably others.

Erich Schröter sings Il Trovatore: Hab' ebarmen o Herr , with Olga Orsella
