Giorgio Tieppo

Tieppo studied at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milano thanks to Pier Miranda-Ferraro. He made his debut as concert singer in 1977.In 1980, he took part in Milano in the concert performance of"Salammb˘" by Mussorgsky (Reworked and completed by Zoltan Peskˇ).

At the beginning of the 1980s, he made his stage debut. In 1982, he appeared at the Regio in Parma in Maria Padilla and in 1983, he made his US debut as Pinkerton in New Orleans. He sang the same role in 1984 at the Regio in Torino and in 1985 at the Comunale in Bologna.

In 1986 and 1987, he sang in South Africa; in 1987 and 1992 he sang in Oslo; 1988 he sang in Dublin and in 1990 he sang in Dallas and at the Opera House in Queensland.

Besides Pinkerton, his other major roles included Rodolfo, Cavaradossi (Berlin, Mannhein, Wien, Dublin, St. Gallen and ZŘrich), Manrico (1993 Pacific Opera), Riccardo, Radames, (1994 Prag), Calaf (1996 Ahoy-Halle in Rotterdam, 1988 Reggio Emilia) and Turiddu.

In 1995, he sang at the Staatstheater von Wiesbaden Pollione and Cavaradossi at the OpÚra du Rhin Stra▀burg. He recorded for CBS Salammb˘ in 1980.
