Biographical Notes
(Catania 1886 - Los Angeles 1946)

He studied at Catania with Aderṇ. In 1910, he went to Rome and was engaged at the Costanzi to sing in comprimario roles. In 1911, he made his debut in main parts at the Vittorio Emanuele of Messina in Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana. In 1913, he made his the first south-American tour. He sang very early Wagnerian roles and already in 1914 he sang in Tannháuser. The war stopped for sometime his career. During the period 1922-1928, he was engaged by the San Carlo Opera Company. In 1931, he settled in Los Angeles where he opened a restaurant, the Paris Inn, where he employed only ex-artists. He was also active in the cinema and he made a movie with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy (Italian Title is "Avventura a Vallechiara"). He Recorded electric records for Odeon and the American label Mc Gregor.
