Marcos Cubas

Marcos Cubas was born in 1919 in La Habana. He moved to Spain and studied singing there. Cubas made his debut in January 1944 at the Liceo as Pinkerton with Mercedes Capsir. He moved to Buenos Aires in 1947. He was a member of the Teatro Argentino. He sang at several theaters in Buenos Aires and in the province. He finally made his debut at the Colon in 1953 as Don Carlos. He also sang in Tosca with Tebaldi and Taddei., in Norma with Dorothy Dow and Ebe Stignani, in il Tabarro with MacNeil, in Ariadne auf Naxos, Cavalleria Rusticana, Bodas de Sangre, in L'amore dei tre re, in The rape of Lucretia, and Il Prigioniero etc… He died in Buenos Aires on August 23rd, August 1986.
