He was the son of the tenorPicture of Antonio Lotti Roque Lotti. He studied singing with Leila Farah. After winning several South American voice competitions, he made his debut in Tosca in São Paulo in 1982. His career developed in South America.

In 1987, he went to Europe first in Portugal where he had success in Carmen. He made guest appearances in Holland, Oslo, Copenhagen, Bologna (Francesca da Rimini, Luisa Miller), Catania (Don Carlo), Porto, Piacenza (I Lombardi), Modena (Fedora), St. Gallen (La Gioconda), Rio de Janeiro (Il Tabarro, 1995), Lucca, Washington, Ludwigsburger Festspielen (Ernani), Canada, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, England, Czech Republic, Norway, Belgium, Japan, ...

In 1994, he was hired by the opera house in Bonn, where he sang Cavalleria rusticana, Tosca, les contes d'Hoffmann, and Il Guarany.

He died from a heat attack in his home in São Paulo when he was preparing to go to sing Aida in Egypt.
