Marques studied singing with Maestro Domenico Silvestro in Rio de Janeiro.

He made his debut in 1958 in Rio de Janeiro as Rodolfo. He made guest appearance at the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, in São Paulo and at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.

His repertory consisted of operas by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Donizetti, Mascagni, Massenet and Gomes.

He made also a career as concert singer.
